SaberLogic Announces New EDI-Integrated Solution for Epicor ERP

SaberLogic has released a new, state-of-the-art EDI software solution and implementation service that integrates the SPS Commerce service with the Epicor ERP. SaberLogic has been working with SPS Commerce since 2009 to provide manufacturers and other businesses with EDI integrated systems connected directly to their ERP system. Their solution for Epicor ERP users was developed to provide a simpler implementation path to EDI. In today’s omnichannel business environment, companies need to be able to implement EDI solutions that provide electronic communications with both their customers and suppliers in extremely short timeframes.

EDI documents from your trading partners will flow through SPS and then into the new Epicor EDI processor developed by SaberLogic., which imports them directly into Epicor. Updates to those documents are exported out of Epicor by SaberLogic’s EDI integration and then back to your trading partner.

In the past, companies needed a custom set of maps developed for each of their EDI trading partners. If they had multiple business partners, this process was often costly and required a lengthy development process.

To solve these issues, SPS Commerce developed a retail standard XML format, called RSX (Retail Standard XML) to streamline the EDI implementation process. By standardizing the format, SPS Commerce gave SaberLogic the ability to develop a tight integration layer between SPS and Epicor ERP that eliminates the manual data entry of invoices, orders, shipments, and other document types.

The key to making EDI appealing to companies is to provide a solution that integrated easily with their existing Epicor ERP without adding a lot of unnecessary barriers to entry. Our solution mated the SPS standards with the flexibility of Epicor ERP.  Epicor EDI implementations no longer need to be massive, costly projects that take multiple months,” says Eli J. Remington, partner and marketing manager at SaberLogic.

Now, businesses can use just one channel to SPS, which separates and coordinates all EDI transactions and delivers them to SaberLogic according to the trading partner. Once received, SaberLogic takes the RSX output file from SPS and converts it into a document that Epicor ERP can read through Direct Import and Epicor Demand Management.
