TAKKT Puts Delivery Capability at Around 10% During ERP Cyberattack Recovery

TAKKT put its delivery capability at around 10% of normal during an October 28 recovery update, as the German business equipment distributor worked to restore ERP-supported operations following a cyberattack. Order processing, deliveries, and invoicing remained restricted, even as customers continued placing orders.

Speaking on the company’s third-quarter earnings call, CEO Andreas Weishaar described the figure as an expectation during the gradual recovery. It represents management’s assessment at that stage, rather than a measure of annual lost sales or groupwide production capacity.

TAKKT identified the attack on October 19 and publicly disclosed it on October 21. The affected operations primarily comprise Industrial & Packaging in Europe and Foodservices in North America. Its initial announcement said systems had partly been taken offline as a precaution, significantly restricting order processing, customer service, and deliveries.

TAKKT puts delivery capability at around 10% during ERP cyberattack recovery, with order processing, shipping, and invoicing still limited on October 28.

Orders continue as fulfillment recovers

According to the October 28 earnings call transcript, core infrastructure had been restored and teams were expanding system access. Employees had used manual workarounds to fulfill selected orders while ERP systems were unavailable. Accumulated orders were being prioritized by size, urgency, and customer importance.

The company’s written update said most brand webshops and communication channels remained unaffected. That allowed orders to keep arriving while fulfillment was constrained, leaving a backlog to work through as operational processes resumed.

For customers, an available ordering channel therefore did not establish that an order could be processed, shipped, and invoiced on the usual schedule.

Fourth-quarter financial impact remains uncertain

In its October 28 financial update, TAKKT said the attack had been contained based on its current assessment, with secure recovery underway. The company expected a noticeable negative effect on fourth-quarter sales, earnings, and cash flow but could not reliably quantify the full-year impact.

TAKKT warned that organic sales growth and its adjusted EBITDA margin could fall below existing guidance ranges of minus 7% to plus 3% and 2% to 5%, respectively. It also reported an increased risk of negative full-year free cash flow.

The nine-month results released alongside the recovery update cover the period through September 30, before the attack. TAKKT said further operational progress was expected over the following days and weeks, with the pace of recovery influencing its year-end financial outcome.
