Infor Details AI Agents for Distribution ERP, Warehouse Picking and Finance

Infor has detailed AI and automation updates for its distribution software portfolio, covering order handling, warehouse execution, demand planning and financial reconciliation. The November 4 announcement describes the October 2026 release, with capabilities spanning CloudSuite Distribution, CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise and related applications.

The updates bring conversational tools closer to specific ERP tasks. Infor’s CloudSuite Distribution documentation describes agents that use application programming interfaces to retrieve business information and perform defined actions through the GenAI Assistant. Supported operations include checking product availability and pricing, reviewing customer balances and transaction histories, and managing order hold codes.

That gives customer service and credit teams another way to investigate an order or account. The assistant calls underlying ERP services in response to a request, allowing users to complete supported tasks without navigating through the corresponding application screens.

Infor details October 2026 distribution updates covering AI agents, warehouse picking, demand forecasting, reconciliation and document-to-order workflows.

Connecting customer requests with purchasing and fulfillment

Infor had already outlined several distribution agents in its October 6 overview of the 2026.10 AI release. For CloudSuite Distribution, the Quoting Agent retrieves customer and product information, applies pricing and discounts, and can convert a quote into an order.

The Purchasing Agent tracks purchase orders, identifies late deliveries and generates supplier follow-up communications. A Product Agent brings together warehouse availability, sourcing options, order history and cost information to recommend a fulfillment path. Other agents address customer activity and vendor performance.

These functions connect several decisions behind a customer commitment: what stock is available, where it can be sourced, what price applies and whether an outstanding purchase order could affect delivery.

Warehouse agents address picking and task administration

The November update identifies two Infor WMS capabilities. The Batch Wave Agent groups orders sharing line items into picking waves on request. The User and Task Management Agent supports onboarding, permissions and task reassignment through natural-language conversations.

Infor positions these tools as ways to reduce picker travel and repetitive administration. Its broader October AI overview also describes WMS agents for building and managing waves, alongside user configuration, assignments and schedules.

Forecasting and finance target data preparation work

For slow-moving or newly introduced products, attribute-based forecasting uses product characteristics to predict demand when sales history is limited. Strategic inventory planning sets safety stock using forecast variability across branches and distribution centers.

Document processing converts requests for quotation, purchase orders and PDFs into CPQ quotes or ERP-ready orders. Finance updates include supplier statement reconciliation and AI-assisted processing of scanned bank statements for reconciliation, leaving unmatched items for resolution.

The distribution announcement does not provide measured customer outcomes for these capabilities. Its claims about lower costs, faster processing and improved inventory performance are Infor’s stated benefits. It directs customers to Infor Community for feature details and activation steps, without providing a complete product-by-product entitlement or availability matrix.
